Marketing Manager

There are 2.7B deskless workers globally, and one-third work in agriculture.. Software tools built for white-collar workers just don’t work for agricultural workers who are often lower literacy, migrant, unbanked, and not accustomed to using email and apps. That’s where we come in. 

Ganaz is the workforce management platform for the $1+ trillion North American agriculture and food manufacturing industry. We help create safer, fairer and more profitable workplaces while providing the financial services needed to help workers forge a path out of poverty.  Our software currently helps employers onboard, train, communicate with, and retain their multilingual, deskless workforce. We will soon be launching paycards with integrated remittances, saving money for both workers and employers in this large and underserved market. We’re working with some of the largest and best brands in the industry, and our product offering and customer base is growing fast.

The Role

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for growing awareness and demand for Ganaz’s products and positioning Ganaz as an industry leader. The marketing manager will work with colleagues to define and implement branding; define and implement a marketing strategy; and lead a team of internal and external content and graphic design people to execute the new branding and marketing strategy. This is a remote position and reports to the VP of Growth and Customer Care.

What you’ll do

Within 1 month you will…

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products, and how businesses and workers use them and what problems we’re trying to solve with our platform. This will include field visits to customers.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our customer (employer) lifecycle and sources of awareness building and demand generation 

  • Begin learning about how workers interact with our platform and the challenges they face in their lives

  • Get to know team members in other functions to begin establishing a whole-of-business perspective and begin ongoing cross-functional collaboration with product, sales and customer success 

  • Develop an understanding of our product roadmap and vision

  • Begin to understand the KPI’s that drive business outcomes, in particular the current and potential channels for demand generation in this industry

Within 3 months you will…

  • Contribute to sales growth:  Develop a strategy and plan for increasing awareness and inbound lead generation for our B2B enterprise sales process;  Begin reviewing sales collateral and developing a sales support strategy

  • Create a content strategy, working with content writer on topics and calendar

  • Lead the hiring process for any unfilled roles that report to you

  • Begin reviewing & refining Ganaz branding, including a plan to revamp our website and robust branding guidelines

  • Work with sales on event calendar and work with graphic designer to develop event collateral 

  • Further define, measure, analyze, improve and control the key metrics that drive awareness and demand generation

Within 6 months you will...

  • Have marketing programs in place that are measurably increasing awareness in the industry and on the way to contributing to about 40% of our sales qualified leads

  • Refined our branding and relaunched our website, implementing other branding changes across the organization as needed

  • Have a robust and active content machine that raises awareness of Ganaz and positions us as a thought leader, helps move the industry towards a win-win relationship between workers and employers, and produces significant inbound leads.  Includes high quality, educational written postings and virtual events.

  • An ability to take a data driven approach to quickly develop an understanding of which marketing strategies will produce the best results in our industry and to execute a plan to invest in those strategies

  • A pragmatic and tangible results-driven approach to marketing / a resourceful and scrappy approach to getting a lot of results from limited resources

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to hire and manage internal and external resources to hit aggressive timelines for projects and events

  • A sense of urgency and hunger to hit increasingly ambitious goals

  • Ability to explain things clearly in a way that people of all education levels understand.

  • Experience working cross-culturally, with fluency in Spanish a strong plus

Requirements:

  • 5+ years professional experience in marketing roles with both qualitative (branding, content, or messaging) and quantitative (lead gen) responsibilities 

  • Occasional travel (including internationally) up to 15% of the time on average
